Victorian School of Languages – Finding Language Classes & Enrolling
The first step for any language class enquiry is to use the VSL Language Finder: 👉 https://web.vsl.vic.edu.au/language-finder/
Use the Language Finder to search by any of our languages (e.g. Indonesian, Japanese, Chinese, Greek, Arabic), suburb or school location, and year level.
Results show which schools offer the language, which year levels are available, and whether the program is First Language (FL) or Second Language (SL).
Primary students (Years 3–6) and secondary students (Years 7–12) can both enrol at VSL if the language is not offered at their home school, or if a timetable clash prevents them from taking it there.
First Language (FL) programs are for students who already speak the language at home with strong literacy skills.
Second Language (SL) programs are for students learning the language as a new or additional language — suitable for beginners.
Classes are held outside regular school hours at VSL Centres across metropolitan and regional Victoria, typically on Saturday mornings or weekday evenings.
To begin enrolment, use the Language Finder to confirm the language and campus, then complete the VSL online enrolment request.
